These terms cover every restring and every product you order from Prostringer. Please read them before you pay — when you place an order you are agreeing to them. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Prostringer ("we", "us", "our") is a racket restringing service offering Nationwide UK racket stringing through mail-order, and selective local services within our specified business catchment area.
You build your order on our site, choose your string, tension and delivery method, and pay online at checkout. Your order is accepted — and a contract formed — when we send your order confirmation email. If we cannot fulfil an order (for example a string has gone out of stock between your order and our checking it) we will contact you to offer an alternative or refund you in full.
You do not need an account to order. If you check out as a guest we ask for your name, email address, delivery address, and for Door 2 Door, a contact number, so we can confirm your order and get your racket back to you.
Prices are shown on the site in pounds sterling. Delivery is charged separately and shown before you pay.
Payment is taken at checkout and processed by PayPal, which also handles card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments. We never see or store your card details. Your order is not confirmed until payment completes.
Where you redeem String Points, the discount is applied before payment and shown in your order summary.
We restring tennis, squash and badminton rackets. Each racket is strung by hand to your chosen tension on an electronic constant-pull stringing machine overseen by an ERSA-certified stringer.
Turnaround. We restring within 48 hours of your racket reaching us, Monday to Friday. That clock starts when your racket arrives, not when you order — postal and courier transit time is on top.
Delivery options. The options available to you, and their current prices, are:
Door 2 Door is our own evening collection and return service, available in selected postcodes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire. You book a collection evening and a return evening at checkout, both within our 6–10pm window. Please have your racket ready to go on your collection evening. If nobody is available and we cannot reach you, we will contact you to rebook. This may incur an additional charge.
Delivery timescales for postal and courier services are estimates given by the carrier and are not guaranteed by us. Where a parcel is delayed or lost in transit we will help you pursue it where we can with the courier.
Rackets are strung on the basis that the frame is sound. Frames weaken with age and use, and hairline cracks are often invisible until a frame is under tension, or masked by wear and tear such as chips and scuffs. We inspect every racket before we string it and will contact you before proceeding if we find damage or a condition that concerns us. Sometimes underlying damage is not visible in well used rackets.
We take real care with your equipment, however we are not responsible for a frame failing because of pre-existing damage, fatigue or a manufacturing defect that could not reasonably have been spotted on inspection.
If you send us your own string to be fitted, please make sure there is enough of it. We cannot be responsible for string that proves too short, or for the performance of string we did not supply. If the string supplied is not suitable then additonal charges may be incured to complete the restring and return the racket(s).
Restringing (a service). Because a restring is carried out to the string and tension you specify, you can cancel at any time before we begin work on your racket and receive a full refund. Once we have started stringing, the service has begun at your request and cannot be cancelled — but please contact us straight away and we will always do what we reasonably can.
Products such as balls, shuttles and bags (goods). You have 14 days from receiving them to change your mind, and a further 14 days to return them. They must be unused and in a resaleable condition. We refund the product price paid within 14 days of receiving them back; the cost of returning them is yours unless they are faulty.
If something is wrong. If a restring is not right — a mistake in string or tension, or a fault appearing quickly in normal use — tell us as soon as you can and we will restring it again at our cost or refund you. This is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Account holders earn String Points on paid orders. 100 points are worth £5.00 off a future order. Points have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred between accounts, and may be withdrawn if an account is used dishonestly.
Our referral scheme gives a new customer £5 off their first restring and rewards the person who referred them once that first order is paid for. Referrals must be genuine: self-referrals, duplicate accounts and bulk or automated sign-ups do not qualify, and we may withhold rewards where we reasonably believe the scheme is being abused.
We may change or end these schemes at any time. Points already earned will be honoured for a reasonable period after any such change.
If you are unhappy with anything, email info@prostringer.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp and we will reply as soon as we can. We would always rather hear directly and fix it.
We may update these terms from time to time; the version published when you place your order is the version that applies to it. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
